Pros

Flexible work schedule Opportunities for independent work and management Interesting projects

Cons

Senior leadership is a joke, more concerned with vanity projects and money-grubbing than actually demonstrating true value Leadership in general is lacking, terrible management skills from majority of project directors, some are downright hostile to employees yet get away with it because they are 'experts' in their field No room for growth or advancement, period, unless you are willing to scheme and backstab Junior and middle-level staff treated as disposable

Pros

Good people, better compensation compared to other iNGOs, and impactful mission.

Cons

Heavy on bureaucracy, long work hours, and cronyism for senior level roles.

Pros

Staff had a more innovative mindset than most USAID-funded orgs I know, more open to new ways of working, better at adopting new tools.

Cons

In the end, they're still bureaucratic and the bureaucracy of their major funders (USAID and the Gates Foundation) means PATH is bureaucratic also, admin processes like recruitment are slow, and they're always chasing the funding instead of doing the right thing for the project and the client country.
