Pros

I love working at PATH. I love my team and I love the work we do. Pay and benefits are relatively excellent for the sector. I have been lucky to end up working under a manager that really values their employees both as contributors to the mission but also as individuals. My manager provides ample opportunities for professional development and is always mindful of work/life balance.

Cons

Poor planning and misguided investments have led to serious overhead budget constraints and resulted in two significant rounds of layoffs this year alone. The general organizational "vibe" is pretty negative right now, and the highest levels of leadership are not doing much to inspire confidence in the organization. Paired with the current political environment, this overhead funding issue has resulted in PATH's inability to be flexible in adapting to the roller coaster that is government funding for programs.

Pros

Staff had a more innovative mindset than most USAID-funded orgs I know, more open to new ways of working, better at adopting new tools.

Cons

In the end, they're still bureaucratic and the bureaucracy of their major funders (USAID and the Gates Foundation) means PATH is bureaucratic also, admin processes like recruitment are slow, and they're always chasing the funding instead of doing the right thing for the project and the client country.
