Good place to gain experience, with an overall decline in quality of compensation during my tenure - Staff Assessor Partner Engineering and Science Employee Review

Pros

Opportunities to travel, cross train, network, and do interesting work in potentially fun places. The people are encouraging and kind. No anxiety necessary for asking seemingly simple questions. Monthly goals are tangible and clear. Can see how some people stay with the company for decades. There are social and long term career benefits of working for a company of this size within a relatively niche industry. Lots of freedom to create your own schedule, and never felt like I had a manager breathing down my neck. Partner trusts the employee to stay on track independently, and managers step in to assist in any slack as needed. Also fairly diverse for a company within the industry. Overall I would work here again and recommend to a friend.

Cons

Pay is below average and raises/bonuses are far from competitive for employees with less than 5 years of experience. Though there are plenty opportunities to learn new skills, you will be expected to perform those new skills with no variation in pay. Very minimal transparency from top to bottom. Expectations of reviewers/company-wide standard for report writing are widely variable meaning you may receive some contradictory feedback project to project. No bonus incentive to go above monthly utilization, but expected to as needed (unless company is forced to like in defcon scenarios). Hourly worker rate and transparency is minimal (I was hourly at a 50 hr/week rate and was told by HR that the additional 10 hours per work week are factored in as a "above-and-beyond" pay which is not included within overtime; must work 50 or more hours to qualify for overtime as an hourly employee??). Sales teams get more company-wide recognition than project managers or assessors. Older veterans of the industry seem a bit out of touch with modern technology and methods of obtaining information.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you felt you were able to learn while at Partner and you felt comradery with your coworkers. We are committed to hiring great people and developing them and feel that's what creates our strong culture with low turnover. Part of our hiring strategy is to hire early career talent with commensurate pay and train them with the intention of them developing and earning more money as their expertise grows. We understand how important recognition is to our people. We use our annual performance and talent reviews, real-time feedback tools and a widely used peer recognition program to promote recognizing individuals for their contributions. We are always open to additional suggestions. Our non-exempt staffers are paid for every hour of OT they work. Happy to discuss if you would like. Thank you again for the feedback - it helps us to continue to make Partner better. Alison Marandola Executive Director, People & Culture

Pros

Partner has been a great place to grow my career. One of the things I've appreciated most is the flexibility to explore different opportunities, figure out where your strengths are, and build a career path that fits your interests. The company genuinely cares about its employees and puts a lot of focus on professional development, mentorship, and long-term growth. The culture is supportive, collaborative, and hardworking without feeling rigid. As we've grown, I've been impressed by how committed the company has remained to its values and mission.

Cons

The biggest challenges have come from growth, which is a good problem to have. As the company continues to expand, there are times when processes, systems, and communication need to catch up with the pace of the business. Most of these are normal growing pains, but they can create occasional inefficiencies along the way.
