Pros

If you do get lucky and are able to land some big sales you can actually make good money, however it generally boils down to luck and territory. Everyone they hire are good reps, and around 80% are fired within year one

Cons

Easily the most God awful place I have ever worked in my career. If you're looking avoid the 5 star reviews they're pressuring employees to make. They keep their numbers up by making people leave good reviews. Its commonly known in the sales world how ruthless and cutthroat the sales division is at Paycom, its a common joke even amoung those still in training anytime they do anything they're probably getting fired. I would recommend working here if you're willing to sell your soul to make money. You'll work 60 hour weeks at an absolute minimum, if you don't you'll be fired quickly. The product is easily the most expensive in a majorly commoditized market so you will have a very tough time selling. Paycom has a very bad rep in the space as well, mainly because they put so much pressure on reps they're forced to engage in high-pressure sales tactics and unethical behavior I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone ever, don't drink their Koolaid. If you're good at what you do you can make plenty of money at plenty of other companys.

Paycom Response

We recognize the hard work our sales reps demonstrate and understand this role may not be the right fit for everyone. Success in sales can often require grit and extra time, but we encourage employees to collaborate with their teams to create a balance that best fits their needs. With this in mind, we have worked hard to cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment for all offices. We also welcome feedback and offer several avenues for employees to share their Paycom stories, including sites like Glassdoor, but our policy is not to incentivize any individual to leave a review. If you feel comfortable, please reach out to our HR team at hrmgmt@paycomonline.com, so we can learn more about your time with Paycom.

Pros

* Fast learning and professional skill growth. * Great people and strong teams. * Recognized name in the OKC community. * Valuable experience that strengthens future career opportunities, especially in Tech.

Cons

Over the past couple of years, career growth has felt extremely limited. Promotions and meaningful raises have become increasingly rare, and many employees believe these decisions are being driven from the very top. Layoffs and terminations have also become common, creating a constant sense of uncertainty. High performers often take on high-visibility projects with aggressive timelines and limited support. The expectations are unrealistic, and even successful delivery doesn’t usually lead to recognition or advancement. Leadership tends to make decisions very late, creating unnecessary urgency and forcing teams into last-minute scrambles. Benefits have declined, opportunities for advancement have become scarce, and overall morale has suffered significantly. There are talented people here and it can be a good place to gain experience, but I would view it primarily as a stepping stone rather than a long-term destination.
