Pros

Leaving before things got really REALLY bad

Cons

I was a consistent top performer through my last day at Paycom. I left because I could no longer work with my immediate manager (poor ethics, self-seeking behavior, lies to cover herself/her job, gossip about executives/other reps with other subordinates, bias against subordinates she didn’t personally like because of their race/lifestyle/personality, dislike of anyone who found her vulgarity unprofessional and called her out on it, and retaliation toward anyone who reported her bad behavior). I have happily moved on, but recently some contacts in my professional community outside of Paycom brought up some recent reviews they saw when looking for jobs, and I decided to check them out. The sentiments and advice in recent reviews - long since my departure - echo the same concerns I had as an employee and reasons I left. What shouldn’t surprise me but somehow does is how the same feedback seems to span across departments and locations. This makes me realize that my feelings were not only valid, but gives me great peace and gratitude for choosing to move on when I did. Jobseekers - if it’s important to you to work for a company that respects workforce feedback and acts on it, pass on Paycom. Current employees - if you’re holding on because you think values will shift, I wouldn’t put off a change.

Pros

* Fast learning and professional skill growth. * Great people and strong teams. * Recognized name in the OKC community. * Valuable experience that strengthens future career opportunities, especially in Tech.

Cons

Over the past couple of years, career growth has felt extremely limited. Promotions and meaningful raises have become increasingly rare, and many employees believe these decisions are being driven from the very top. Layoffs and terminations have also become common, creating a constant sense of uncertainty. High performers often take on high-visibility projects with aggressive timelines and limited support. The expectations are unrealistic, and even successful delivery doesn’t usually lead to recognition or advancement. Leadership tends to make decisions very late, creating unnecessary urgency and forcing teams into last-minute scrambles. Benefits have declined, opportunities for advancement have become scarce, and overall morale has suffered significantly. There are talented people here and it can be a good place to gain experience, but I would view it primarily as a stepping stone rather than a long-term destination.
