Pros

Provides an opportunity for contractors to meet folks at client sites and possibly transition to jobs at the companies.

Cons

No room or opportunity for professional development and growth. Poor benefits. Home office staff does not connect well with staff working at client sites. Leadership does not have good understanding of client site needs. Company has employed questionable HR tactics to save money internally. For example, full-time salaried folks at PDG client sites only have the option of using PTO or taking unpaid leave during client holidays even if all (or excess) hours for the year have been billed for the site- PDG chooses to treat salaried folks like a 1099. Employees can only achieve maximum bonuses if excess hours are billed to the client- however there are hour limits to billing that have been previously negotiated with the client contracts- thus impossible to achieve these bonuses!

Thank you for your comments. I would like to take this opportunity to clarify a few things based on the info provided above. PDG is happy to provide some of the best benefits of small and large companies in the area with 16 days of PTO upon hire and 21 days for 2-4 years of service and 26 days when an employee reaches 4 years of service. These PTO days are in addition company-paid holidays. PDG pays 90% of the cost of employee health benefits and about 55% of the cost for dependent health benefits. PDG adds $150/month to employees' bank accounts who elect the HSA medical option. PDG offers 401k with 3% match and short term and long term disability upon hire and every employee is eligible for a performance based bonus starting at 10% of gross wages. We also offer flexible schedules and remote working opportunities. We host social events and an annual holiday party and feel that all of these offerings are indicative of the great value we see in our employees. Lastly, in December of 2014 PDG offered professional development opportunities for those employees working at client sites whose offices were closed for holidays when PDG was not closed. These employees also had the choice to take PTO or unpaid time or work on an approved client-based project. PDG management worked with each employee to achieve a desirable outcome for all parties. If you are still employed by PDG I encourage you to call Human Resources, your resource manager or our company president so we can work together to clear up any recent or potential misunderstandings.

Pros

Flexible, remote work Fun and collaborative people Creative and impactful work

Cons

Even though I listed flexible, remote work as a pro, I do miss being in an office from time to time. Thankfully, we do get together as a company and as teams several times per year.

Pros

Decent pay for the work, and overall good experience with onboarding.

Cons

Zero management structure, so project people and senior ID people are your manager, which means if you do something they don't like, you're gone. No conversation, no warning, no reasons. Just out. They ended my contract and I don't even know why or what I did, except to say the "Lead ID" of my team goes along with anything anyone says, so if you disagree, or come to the table with another option, they dump you for not getting along. Take your creativity elsewhere.
