Pros

Once your in, your in until you get laid off. Meaning you don't get laid off for petty BS. Career path for those who have connections or are in the "ole boys clubs". Decent benefits but those had dimished greatly over the years since I started.

Cons

Unless your in the club, it's hard to move up in the company. Been here for years and am still waiting for my first promotion. I'm a good employee and an constantly called upon for my opinion so it isn't like I don't know what I am talking about. Somehow, someone else always seems to get the job instead of me. There are many of us in the same boat. Lower qualified, less experienced people seem to get the jobs. Seems the hardest workers are kept in thier current position to do the work while the brown nosers are the ones moving up. This is also a very cheap company. They don't pay anyone well at all. Your only chance to make any real money at PerkinElmer is walking in the door. Yo won't get more than a 3% raise on average. Upper management nickel and dimes everyone while they pocket the profits.

Pros

Great people in field and customer facing positions. Vast knowledge base of applications and instrumentation.

Cons

Very poor executive leadership- don't want to spend money on marketing, promotion of instrumentation, or relevant customer applications. Most do not know industry. Wonder why sales are decreasing.
