Pros

Employees have a sense of camaraderie Some good scientists Long-term contracts with the government Basic pay is at standard

Cons

Upper management screamed at their staff, who are not stupid by the way, had several colleagues who experienced this which is completely unacceptable in this day and age. Lack of basic business intelligence processes, maybe this has changed since then. I didn't even know what that meant until I moved out. Assignments riddled with politics like everywhere else, but since there are no growth prospects here they have nothing exciting to give to new hires so if you are looking to start your career and have some skill and ambition do not do it here. Plus there are lots of barely competent middle management threatened by new hires since as I said there are very limited growth prospects.

Pros

Great people in field and customer facing positions. Vast knowledge base of applications and instrumentation.

Cons

Very poor executive leadership- don't want to spend money on marketing, promotion of instrumentation, or relevant customer applications. Most do not know industry. Wonder why sales are decreasing.
