Pros

Used to be a great place where the people at Point72 felt like family. Used to be a place where there was no politics. Everyone knew each other, and everyone was treated with respect. Used to be a place where I loved to work. It's a place I never ever wanted to leave. Used to have the brightest technologist, and best leaders in the industry.

Cons

New management replaced many of the old timers with lower cost resources. New management has killed the culture. There is no longer any harmony. After all, many of new hires have not had time to build relationships. The IT folks who had the institutional knowledge are mostly gone. While the new folks are highly skilled and hungrier, the departures have created a brain drain. There too many new players who don't understand the environment, and the environment is falling apart. Fancy town halls feels like smoking mirrors. While the new leader talks about innovation, the new strategy being played out is not working. Many of the new hires are also leaving in frustration. While new leader distastefully makes a mockery of how the old management lacked any strategy, the new strategy is not working out as planned.

Pros

Excellect company culture, beautiful offices, very good compensation and benefits, amazing opportunities for professional development

Cons

Very fast paced and innovative with high expectations, if you aren't a fast learner and highly adaptive you won't last here. It's a hedge fund so be prepared for some serious egos, but generally speaking the people are quite nice. They don't have a CFO, so it sometimes feels like central coordination/strategy is lacking to the back office finance function.

Pros

Smart people always willing to help Great benefits/pay/lunch stipend etc. Collegiate environment, most analysts are in their mid- late-20's

Cons

Work can become repetitive - same coverage for multiple years at a time speaking to the same people Limited work life balance (but its a hedge fund so you should expect that going in) A lot of micromanagement/bureaucracy. Too many cooks in the kitchen overseeing work, can make the research process tedious
