- Good pay and benefits - Smart colleagues
Cons
- Work life balance could be better
- Current Employee, more than 3 years★★★★★
Pros
Good infrastructure and support. A lot of the dev ops and engineering type work will be handled for you.
Cons
Entirely dependent on the PM you work under (if you are an embedded data scientist). Some PMs treat you as a front office employee; others see you purely in a support role. Comp also entirely determined by PM. Little growth opportunities.
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
Very pleased with everything they have to offer
Cons
I would only have to say it's long hours
- Current Employee, more than 3 years★★★★★
Pros

Cons
competitive and not good payed compared to other fund
- Current Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
great benefits, amazing office, nice people
Cons
there is a clear hierarchy where employees are respected based on their job title
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
There are a lot of resources if you need them - there's a department for everything. If you need support from business development, HR, employment services, they will listen. The firm is focused on mentoring and building long term relationships, as evidenced by their Launchpoint and Academy program.
Cons
It can sometimes be overwhelming how many resources there are and where to find them.

Great company, great people
Nov 28, 2022 - Quantitative Research Analyst in New York, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I work for Cubist (Point72's quant arm). I joined the company as a junior research analyst after getting my Ph.D. - People here are extremely helpful and talented. You would get help whenever you need it, from your manager, mentor, colleague, and even the CEO, which is especially important to a junior person like me. - You got chances to do interesting projects that are at the core of the trading business. If you love finance research, this is the place to go - the environment is similar to academia; plus, you can see the real impact of your research. - Employee benefits are awesome. You get free insurance for the family - medical, dental, and vision.
Cons
To be honest, I have nothing to complain about. It has been 1.5 years, and never have I regretted my decision since I joined the firm.
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
Great deal of flexibility, however personal experience is highly PM dependent.
Cons
Lack of feedback, individual pay is dependent on factors mostly outside of employee's performance and contribution.
