It's very cliquey. If the right people don't like you then good luck.
The issue is that many of the people that work there are like family. They have worked for the CEO for many years, and they are all part of this very CULT-LIKE group. I am not exaggerating when I say cult. Most everyone is a Scientologist.
It can feel incredibly suffocating to be in the environment. They make you take L. Ron. Hubbard courses that are supposed to be secular "business" ethics and strategies to follow but there is such a pervasive undercurrent of cult-like Scientology its disgusting. The CEO does not realize, nor does she care how annoying and truly ostracizing it can be to a person who doesn't share the beliefs. I've never worked at a company that FORCES their ideologies down your throat so much, and the way they FEIGN IGNORANCE on the subject is just hysterical.
Last, but not least - this company expects you to work your tail off for next to nothing. Next. To. Nothing. I have worked in retail and made more than what they paid me there, and yet they want you to work longer hours than you're supposed to and make the job your whole life. Forget about working 9-6. They truly want PostcardMania sewn into the fabric of your being..and if it isn't, then you will never be successful there.
Now that I work at a company that pays well, offers awesome benefits, and cares about their employees having a good work/life balance, I can understand why the turnover rate is so high at PCM.
