Pros

We are trusred, we work at our own pace, company is lienent, can ocassionally look at of cell phone for important messages from family or childs school, we watch ocassional Movies at Fridays, as long if ones work is completed daily no complaints from pharmacies or Patients you will get a raise. DR. is pleasant with a good personality.

Cons

No matter how hard you work its not really reconized, you never really get a review, if you do its never by the supervising manager, The Dr. Might says a couple of kind words, but is mostly interested in your personal life. There is more than enough work to do, fast paced with not much help available, but good thing Dr will have patients booked for 30 to 45 minutes and only take 5 to 10 minutes with them witch gives you a fair chance to get your xray orders, lab forms and referrals done on the computer, not much help is available as the Manager is afflicted with so much work I had often see her comes in 1/2 hour to a hour early and often handles alot of xtra work for the Dr.

Pros

(This is for Providence St Vincent Medical Center in PDX) - staffing ratios - break nurses - ONA union - coworkers on my unit are very helpful and kind (can’t speak for every unit though)

Cons

- upper management hates the nursing union - we are short on many supplies on weekend night shifts - crappy insurance - my unit’s manager is almost never there, they’re always on vacation or working remote. This makes our manager very out of touch with the unit’s needs
