Pros
One of my favorite things about working at Qualcomm is that employees at any level can perform meaningful work and turn great ideas into incredible success stories. There are a lot of smart, talented, and energetic employees here who care a lot about the work they do.
Cons
While employees have shown their passion for the work they do and their commitment to Qualcomm, it has really started to feel like unreciprocated love. Management has become very bottom-line driven, in many instances penny-smart, pound foolish, and it has sent a terrible message to employees that they are not valued. When I moved across the company to join Qualcomm, it was a company advertised as one of Fortune's top 100 companies, and I was awe stricken by the fact they paid 100% of healthcare costs for employees and their families. Neither of those things are true anymore, and the negative changes have piled up in the last 12-18 months (cuts to benefits, bonuses, stock, headcount reductions, reputation).
