Pros

Some great experience and responsibility to learn from. Amazing backgrounds on management and some great people to work with (depending on the site).

Cons

Accretive is growing too fast for its own good. Problems and issues arise in IT and it takes forever for a ticket to be resolved. They do not have the ability to control each new site as its popping up. Rapid growth can be great when the company can change its policies to keep up with the growth. Accretive needs to take a page from some of the larger players and learn to deal with growth before more mistakes take them off the map. Promotions are only on an annual basis. If you join in the middle of the year you will have to wait 1.5 years to even have a "chance" to be promoted. Internal politics within each site can be a huge issue as well. Change is never easy but there could be better ways to avoid making the same mistakes at each site. HR is absolutely horrendous. They have no clue whats truly going on and never tell you because you know as much as they do (and HR is at the HQ!). Example: official letters and agreements are not lived up to along with many other HR tasks. Make sure to either know some people on the inside of Accretive or have some power on the outside. When comparing salary with other competitors, Accretive is below average.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
