Pros

Hey, it's better than being unemployed

Cons

Little to no opportunities for career advancement, lots of work being funneled to India, much discussion of replacing employees with bots or AI Best advice I can give is steer clear. R1 is another of Intermountain's follies along with iCentra and Care Transformation. How some of these executives are still employed is anyone's guess. As an R1 employee, you will be treated like a vendor by your clients. You will hear a lot about growth within the company and meanwhile hear execs talk jobs in India and replacing people with technology. You will also hear how bright R1's future is yet you'll look around and see how miserable your co-workers are. Look elsewhere for employment is my recommendation.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
