Pros

Big promises of advanced production and revenue with current employees. But this was not true.

Cons

When R1 took over the revenue cycle team at Ascension Health, they tried to convey loyalty to current associates and the value of their work and dedication to the hospital. In reality the bottom dollar was their only loyalty. Jobs were completely refocused and retitled with descriptions that had no bearing in the work being accomplished. Just fit folks in their current job titles and descriptions. The saddest and most disillusioned action was moving so many position to India. Disgrace to the loyalty of the local American employees!! Don’t take a job here. No guarantee your job will remain, unless you want to move to India.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
