      Pros

      Great time off from day one, the junior level employees are all go getters that have great ideas.

      Cons

      Be prepared to give up all of your free time if there is a major project going on (and even at times when there isn't). Most employees are expected to drop everything for the smallest issues, and it seems more time is spent putting out fires than actually fixing the root of the problem.

      No promotions, and the yearly pay increase is basically the inflation rate

      Pros

      The voluntary separation offer was good.

      Cons

      I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
