Pros

They give you a paycheck and you can work remote

Cons

They acquired our employer and told everyone this is good news, nothing will change. Then everything changed for the worse. Took PTO. balances people had accrued for years and told us with about a month notice we are switching to FTO with no payout for whatever balance you have. They are offshoring every position they can. They are constantly changing processes and metrics and not being very clear about anything. They send out meaningless surveys wanting people to tell them how great they are and when you say anything other than that it's either ignored or dismissed with excuses. The software we are supposed to use to do our jobs is barely functional. Which is ironic for what is touted as a cutting edge healthcare technology company. The lack of work to do increases daily with no actual acknowledgement of any issues to the larger population at all. The constantly failing software, corporate bloat at the top, lack of any interest at all in employees as people. I would run away. If you are in the US I would not bother unless you are at a corporate level and can profit from the top heavy system.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
