Pros

Assist with shelters/housing placement for homeless, those with substance use get connected to counselors/treatment, getting others connected to clinical therapist/clinic, and help DV victims get into DV shelters/help with police reports in the hospital. Educate and learn on resources. Down time when no patients to be seen. Communicative medical staff. Room for growth to move up at the hospital and behavioral health department. County benefits and mobility to move to other clinics/hospitals. Always active on the go

Cons

Stressful in coordinating care/placement with medical staff (always monitoring charts), not able to help everyone (letting homeless go back to the streets or those with substance use to still drink/get high if they don’t want help or come after hours with no phone), always needing to find resources/update them, not able to help those with no phone much, seeing people in their worst condition aka trauma work (esp. DV victims or those in motor vehicle accidents), decent but still low paying, sometimes having nightmares of patients, early hours, multi-tasking sometimes, and always needing to check hospital patient lists
