Pros

You will get you pay check on time!

Cons

Management is horrible! HR is behind locked doors, they do not answer emails or questions and are horribly biased. SCUSA lies to customers, repo cars with lost liens, make harassing and illegal calls to collect. Send out 1099-c's on loans with no settlement in place. They do not honor settlement arrangements. But what do you expect from a company who has lied to their shareholders. ( who have now filed a class action lawsuit against them) They are being investigated by the fed and by the state of Texas AG for illegal lending practices. They write loans without the proper documentation, they have written hundreds of loans in which an elderly person thought they were co signing for a family member but in fact they were the only signer, and they had an income of $50k, when they are only getting SS benefits,( at most, less than 1900 a month!) They knowingly write loans they know the borrower can not repay! I was directed by a manager to call on an active duty deployed soldier, in addition his car was assigned for repo! I have been witness to numerous retaliatory actions by managers and AVP's. If you had only a few of these you could claim these are isolated incidents...But the sheer volume negative and illegal behavior speaks to an unspoken and encouraged policy.

Pros

Of all the companies I have worked for, Santander has had the strongest training program. The training was comprehensive, well-structured, and especially valuable for employees who are new to the banking industry. Additionally, Santander's ONE software is by far the most intuitive and user friendly banking platform I have used, making it easy to learn and navigate while supporting efficient daily operations.

Cons

Like most retail banking roles, there is a strong sales component. With fewer customers visiting branches due to online banking and ATMs, much of the day is spent making outbound calls to existing clients, trying to set appointments, and push products and services. While I understand the importance of sales in the industry, I personally felt there was significant pressure to prioritize sales goals over relationship building and client service, which I was not comfortable with.
