Pros

- Great 401(k) match, 100% up to 8% - Annual bonus, slight raise, and Profit Sharing contribution - Sponsored education internally or externally within your area of expertise - Some remote opportunities, hybrid schedule

Cons

- Communication is very disorganized. Rollout of new systems/processes are very difficult, transparent top to bottom communication almost nonexistent, no clear mission. - IT has a completely different culture and set of expectations than the rest of the company. From individual contributors to executives, the communication is unprofessional and even hostile at times. - Steep decrease in focused development once you reach leadership. Large emphasis on regular performance/development discussions as an individiual contributor, nonexistent at leadership level even if you go to HR with feedback although they are Sentry sponsored expectations. - HR largely absent and unresponsive to leaders. Hard to get ahold of, get updates, and receive guidance from HR as a leader when experiencing very difficult associate situations. This was extremely concerning as a new leader within the company. - Sentry will state they are an in-person company, however, leave remote flexibility up to individual departments resulting in inconsistency within their own corporate policies. Health accommodations are unlikely to be accommodated for remote work, but if you move out of state, then you can be fully permanently remote. Additionally, they hire a larget amount of associates remote in the last couple years (not at regional offices or not made to come in) while fully promoting to other associates they're not doing that. - Wage increases do not match market value. I was making more than $10k less as a leader with years of experience than what lower levels at other companies make. Although annual raises usually occur, they're not much.

Thank you for your review. As you state, our benefits are extensive, including educational opportunities. I have to disagree with some of your points of view, however. Employee development opportunities are available to everyone, at all levels. Each employee’s situation is unique and is handled with the appropriate and proper attention.
