Pros
I worked in the distribution center of ShaneCo where they process and send out jewelry. I came in as a temp during this time. The pay was good and it was a laid back environment (or so it seemed) and the people were nice enough (to your face).
Cons
I wanted to come write this review so if someone is considering either working for Western Stone and Metal (the distribution center) or another job that they will know what they are getting into as a temp. My first day was being seated at a table and given a two page packet on what I was going to be doing. This packet didn't cover all the different jewelry I would be seeing and if you asked someone a question you seemed to have annoyed them because everyone is over worked. It is laid back but it never felt that way to me everyone seemed on edge to me. What I noticed in my time there was that no one really moved up in the company from there. It seemed horizontal to me career wise. If they didn't like you they decided that on day one and treated you like it. Being a temp myself and other temps like me were treated like outsiders. They would have meetings without us, wouldn't really train you even if you asked and no body would actively try to make you feel welcome. If you kept your cool during a situation they looked down at you. They made sure you were watched at all times with cameras like they were waiting for you to do something wrong. You were promised training and move up potential but that never happened. You would have to ask someone to let you into where you were working every morning or be walked in and out if you wanted fresh air. They strung temps along only to get rid of good workers, bring in more temps and hire permanent people before temps who were there for months. You are always left to wonder when they were going to cut you and I finally left because I found somewhere that treated me better.
