A great place to work

I've worked for Smile Brands for close to 12 years. I enjoy the family atmosphere and collective focus on supporting the practices and optimal patient care. There is plenty of advancement opportunities for individuals wanting to grow professionally. The Senior management is supportive and encouraging. Dentists like the complete freedom to provide custom treatment plans based on each patients unique needs. No corporate dentistry here. The pay is in line with the responsibilities and includes bonus opportunities.
Cons
No 401 K match opportunity.

Cons
When I joined Smile Brands I loved and respected the culture, passion, and desire to genuinely serve the greater good. Unfortunately, the executive team made a very bad decision to bring in a consultant for the TA team. Worst mistake.... He runs the department like a dictatorship. The ridiculous micromanagement has resulted in almost the entire recruiting team being turned over. When you complain to HR they act like they knew nothing, despite everyone complaining before they quit and during exit interviews; if they get back to you at all. If you are not absurdly energetic and fake, you are told you are being negative. You could exceed your monthly goals (which are very ambiguous and unrealistic) and still get talked down to. If you do not openly praise mgmt, you are treated like you are nothing and told that there are other "DSO's hiring." The entire team is afraid to speak up for fear of retaliation from mgmt. I do NOT recommend SBI to anyone that values their mental health and how their work impacts such. If you like being paid to be micromanaged, not trusted to do the job you were hired for, talked down to, having just about every resource taken from you, having unrealistic goals, and dreading Mondays, this is the department for you.
