Pros
The salary and benefits are great. Some of the people that I met over the years there were truly lovely. They are the only thing I miss about that institution.
Cons
There is a great deal of nepotism. People are Grand fathered into the company whether they have the skill set or not. If you know someone in management you receive better treatment and are often allowed to slack on your work. The problem with that is other people end up having to pick up the slack. HR picks and chooses who they will help and who they will not. Also there are serious race relation issues within that company. To the point where they had to hire a Chief Diversity Officer. Certain ethnicities are favored over others. They have been sued multiple times for racism. The work load is insane and some of the managers are difficult and very abusive. Several marriages have broken up due to executives and other employees having affairs. There were creepy executives there that would constantly flirt with women and make them uncomfortable. If the person harassing the woman had a good relationship with an executive, it's guaranteed that the issue will never be addressed because they are being protected by their boss. There was a woman being harassed by a director there but he was friends with an SVP. She was afraid to say anything because she knew the guy that was harassing her was friends with the SVP for a long time. She literally just decided to leave the company overall even though she liked working there. However in a lot of the cases women were subordinate to them, it made the women feel like there was nothing they could do but accept it. They knew HR wouldn't do anything about it. Or if HR did address it, it would just make it worse for the woman. It is a toxic environment, and really not worth working there. The money is good but the culture is awful. It was a way better culture when it was TWC before the merger with Charter Communications. I was absolutely miserable the 5 years I worked there. The only thing that made it somewhat bearable was that there were some lovely people I met, people who were not into drama. People who came to work, did their Job, and went home.
