Pros

The set up of the salon, business model, and the services offered to the clients are thought out well. I enjoyed performing the services at the salon

Cons

Management is unprofessional, non confrontational, passive aggressive, and behaves in an immature manner for management. The management doesn’t know how to have professional conversations. Current manager does not develop the knowledge of staff or communicate verbally the salon expectations. Management brings their children into the salon for the duration of their shift, children are allowed to run freely in salon, bothering staff with customers. They are so worried about being friends with everyone that they don’t want to ruffle feathers. No follow through, no written documentation. Bad communication to where staff is being put on blast in a group message for things they are doing wrong without being brought in and talked to in a way of correcting situations. Causes drama within the salon. They don’t give you chances to explain yourself before termination. You get terminated via text message.

Pay, schedule flexibility, growth opportunities, company events, benefits

Cons

The pay is excellent as long as you’re performance is strong and especially if your flexible with your schedule and full time. But if you’re not a good performer or super part time, this might not be the best place for you.

Pros

Great hourly pay with tips. Averaged about $38 to $40 an hour. Great starting place. They do offer training. The co-workers were nice at my location. Management does help you with flexible scheduling so if you have children, it works out great.

Cons

Burnout is real. Expected to complete service within an allotted short time. Too many clients come in that want expensive barbershop cuts but want to pay the lowest price (they really shouldn’t even go to sport clips for). Also, way too many clients with long hair wanting full scissor cuts. They won’t turn away clients even if the cuts they ask for are — are not something sport clips does or allows for a lot of time. TV’s get annoying after a while (too loud).
