      The Best Decision I've Made As A Stylist - Assistant Manager Sport Clips Employee Review

      Pros

      I don't even know where to begin about how Sport Clips has changed my life in such a positive way. I was terrified to cut men's hair in beauty school. I would literally cry when I had to. Right after beauty school I applied, and they immediately took me in and have taught me everything I know and I wouldn't change it for anything. I love my job but more importantly I love the company, the clientele, and my co-workers aka my second family! They truly care about you and want to see you succeed! We're always hiring great stylists, and even those, like myself, who never knew their true potential. Best decision...ever!

      Cons

      Be open with your availability, as a stylist in the beauty industry it's a given that weekends are the busiest times but that doesn't mean when things come up you won't ever get a weekend off. It all comes with being a hairstylist.

      Pay, schedule flexibility, growth opportunities, company events, benefits

      Cons

      The pay is excellent as long as you’re performance is strong and especially if your flexible with your schedule and full time. But if you’re not a good performer or super part time, this might not be the best place for you.

      Pros

      Great hourly pay with tips. Averaged about $38 to $40 an hour. Great starting place. They do offer training. The co-workers were nice at my location. Management does help you with flexible scheduling so if you have children, it works out great.

      Cons

      Burnout is real. Expected to complete service within an allotted short time. Too many clients come in that want expensive barbershop cuts but want to pay the lowest price (they really shouldn’t even go to sport clips for). Also, way too many clients with long hair wanting full scissor cuts. They won’t turn away clients even if the cuts they ask for are — are not something sport clips does or allows for a lot of time. TV’s get annoying after a while (too loud).
