Pros
There are some genuinely hard-working, great people at this company.
Cons
Swoon is playing a very passive, yet dangerous game and is quiet cutting/quiet firing. Especially over the last 6 months, executive leadership has implemented several tactics to get employees to leave on their own because they don’t want to report layoffs - it’s been a horrible way to reduce headcount. Some of these tactics have included a return-to-office mandate (continuously increasing the number of in-office days), unrealistic metrics (and then quickly putting employees on PIPs when they aren’t met - so that they can term people “due to performance”), and a large internal restructuring where some employees were managed out of their roles (their position was eliminated - they were offered a “similar” role but with more responsibilities and lower pay). Swoon has NOT been transparent or open about why these recent organizational changes have occurred, but in part it’s to mask the economic distress they’re in, and as a result a lot of high-performing employees no longer feel respected, valued or supported and have left/are leaving the organization.
