Pros

Calm, relaxed environment. generous discount, great feeling/accomplishment when helping customers pick out shoes. Staff can bond and make lasting friendships

Cons

Extremely low pay, i started as an assistant manager and barely had two nickels to rub together living on their horrible starting salary. I got promoted to a store manager shortly after and that was barely any better. Managers have ALOT of responsibility and yet have very little to work with. We have no marketing budget or stipend so clinic training and run clubs i paid out of pocket for contests, traveling, food, etc. Also the run clubs and clinics were often times conducted off the clock because managers cant go over 40 hours a week and that includes managing a store, recruiting and hiring staff (along with training them) and also meeting sales quotas. I often times worked off the clock. HR cant be bothered with simple questions and were often times rude and uncaring. High turnover due to low pay. Quality of employees left alot to be desired as well. No leadership from upper management. This job will suck the soul out of you if you let it and managers have it the worst. This job would be fine for part time staff but full time? Forget it! Oh and also almost forgot to add there is no work/life balance AT ALL!!
