    Pros

Travelers is a pretty progressive company. They promote diversity, inclusion and equality. They provide competitive pay and benefits and promote work-life balance.

    Cons

This is a good company to work for as far as insurance companies go.

    Good Company To Work For

    Pros

Their IT team is pretty well organized and overall a financially stable company. Their products and services are pretty superior and this is a very highly collaborative culture. Their Underwriting Development Program is well established and have invested in their HR most recently to include personal pathways for career growth and has really emphasized Mental Health. I can honestly say our CEO is a caring and thoughtful leader.

    Cons

Conservative thinking tends to be the theme here, so the average underwriter feels out of control half the time. CEO is "woke" but middle management is not, micro managing is also a common theme with them. Not enough diverse leaders that include Black/African American employees. The talent is there but recruiters tend to recruit from the same white predominant places. If you don't live in Minnesota or Hartford, which is a setback for minorities itself, you'll very likely hit your glass ceiling. It's a very dull environment sometimes, so investing in millennials would be a good thing for Travelers. To the millennials - this is a great place to gain some experience but be sure to advocate for yourself otherwise you'll also hit the glass ceiling for some time.
