Pros
There are none. There are only a handful of techs who have been there over 10 years. Most techs get their 5 years vested in the pension and leave, and the 5 year vested amount is insignificant.
Cons
Fear of constantly having a target on your back by management. No good supervisors will even apply there. They can’t keep most of the supervisors very long. Management does not have your back at all. Most techs hired end up quitting quickly or made to feel inadequate by management and quit because they give you a very condescending copy and paste template disciplinary action which can make you cry if you take it seriously. They are looking for hateful people to fit into their hateful clique, and if you’re a decent person, you’ll hate going to work. I’ve never seen so much unequal treatment of employees. Techs who stay are petty, lazy, whiny, sloppy and make a game of messing with you. I’ve never seen so much throwing under the bus of coworkers. In the SD rad tech job market, with all the other places paying more than UC, there’s no reason to work here. They pay $9 for call! Other places pay around $25! The nurses and doctors berate and report techs for bogus reasons on a regular basis, which gives management the ability to keep them in fear. The residents don’t know what they want, and they treat you with hostility.
