Pros
- The people are awesome - The projects are typically pretty cool - Some of the fringe benefits are nice to have
Cons
- Salary is typically lower than competitive consulting companies. The benefits don’t make up for this gap. - Senior leadership expects you to perform the job of several people - regardless of discipline - entry level folks in our office never truly had a day off. One engineer told me he hadn’t had a full day off in three months. Work-life balance is off. Grind culture is real here. - VHB does not typically allow fully remote work. You would have to come to the office 2-3 times a week. - Opportunity for advancement can be limited depending on your discipline. Eventually you will hit a ceiling. - There are far better opportunities out there than VHB.
