I have been working at VHB full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great benefits
Ability to work with other teams and offices on a variety of projects

    Cons

    Office politics determine success.
Toxic environment promoted by aggressive and negative reinforcement from quality review staff.
Unclear path for promotion and expectations.
Legacy based culture hurts team morale. If you were not hired out of school into VHB, will face greater challenges over peers. Previous work experience is not considered as strongly as one would expect.
Understand and leverage employee's previous work experience from outside the firm.

    Advice to Management

Promote greater emphasis on teamwork. The very silo-ed approach to projects creates a competitive environment where outspoken employees are rewarded over more experienced staff.

    Pros

Great company to work for. IT has multiple location that you can move to.

    Cons

It's hard to grow , because the management stays there forever.

    Advice to Management

Need to hire more young people and change the culture of the company

I have been working at VHB full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company places an emphasis on employee satisfaction and well-being; pay is commensurate with comparable companies; work schedules and locations may be flexible; good IT support; general willingness to work across departments or even change career trajectories internally if necessary; good support for personal issues; overall a good community of people without drama or internal competition.

    Cons

Company is growing and in a transition period which has its hiccups with the networks and tech; employees' experiences seem to vary for better or worse depending on the department in which they work and their direct supervisors (not much uniformity across individual departments, let alone office locations); like many (all) consulting jobs, you must account for all hours of your time with a billability target.

    Advice to Management

Re-consider recent downgrade of PPO health insurance offering.

I worked at VHB full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay rate was decent for the area. The office was in a good location. You were not expected to work overtime.

    Cons

The projects were mind numbingly boring, and later I learned that my colleagues were backstabbing me the entire time I was there. I received zero training even though I was promised training by the management who hired me. Workplace dynamics could not have been more awkward and uncomfortable. Was let go with no warning. No previous conversations or feedback on any work that I was doing. No "career conversations" as VHB puts it. Very little severance. (Less than a weeks pay). Definitely not a stable company to work for or one that you can succeed in. You are defiantly easily dispensable in this kind of environment.

I have been working at VHB full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great company culture that promotes individuality and diversity.
    - Leaders are allowed to lead and help grow the firm.
    - Top notch technology where everything you need to do your job is a push button away.
    - High quality professionals with experience in every area of the industry.

    Cons

    - It's a large company with many facets and rules, which may not always be a bad thing if you've been on the other side.

    Advice to Management

Keep promoting the culture that exists and don't ever go public or lose the one-profit center mindset that destroys most large companies with offices in close proximity to eachother.
