Pros

It is a job, perks are good

Cons

commission based on how many and how fast you go...if you do everything they want you to your sales suffer. Verizon thinks the more sales people they have the more sales they will get. They barely do any marketing. The retail sales reps are to bring in their own business like out side sales but don't have the lead way to make sales. Meaning we would still have to be their 8 hour or more a day but if we get a customer to come in on our day off then we have to be there. If we don't make our very high sales goals we have to come in on our days off and explain why we can't sell anything. Because there are too many sales reps nobody has enough work to do. So everyone just stands in the front of the store lunging at people. The job is very boring compared to the way it had been in the past. If your not one of the "faster reps" you can barely make enough to live in southern california

Pros

Large corporation with huge potential for individuals to grow and move up in the organization.

Cons

Unfortunately every time they have bad profits for a quarter their answer is to layoff a large portion of their workforce to appease the stockholders

Pros

Compensation is competitive but you will work very hard for it. Culture is excellent and exhibited and practiced from the top down. Benefits are excellent and cost reasonable. 401k match and profit sharing. Lots of training and professional development opportunities. Can advance if you're willing to relocate.

Cons

Company is trying to transform into what it wants to be beyond a wireless carrier (cloud?, security?, telematics?, wholesaler?, etc) and is struggling with a vision, resources, and org structure to make it a reality. Several re-organizations over last few years so job security has frequently been a question. Often delayed response to competitors caused by management's concern that acting would result in not meeting Wall Street expectations. Not the "happiest" place to work because no result is ever good enough and successes aren't celebrated because the focus is always on the next weekly/monthly/quarterly goal.
