Pros

Good pay Part ownership of business Possibility through Partner Voice to affect change Good variety of jobs throughout working day

Cons

Hounding to do overtime as branches won't hire more partners, despite admitting that they don't have enough current partners to cover the required hours. Holiday often rejected due to "inappropriate timings" despite the holiday rota not being full (it is published and can be referenced). Partners often forced to do tasks that they are untrained for, such as delivery and de-kit, service counters, or Welcome Desk as the hours required are not covered. Managers operate on favouritism and an 'old boys club', in that greater benefits (such as extra allocation of paid holiday) will be awarded to favourites of managers, despite no company or branch gain. There are very few hard working managers, all work falls on that of the basic partner, irrelevant of whether it is within their duties. Managers such as Customer Service managers or Replenishment managers stand around and chat, neglecting duties in place of creating the wholesome shopping experience that Waitrose implies it gives. Customers are the worst at Waitrose. Some customers seem wonderful but it is merely a lack of the terrible nature of the others. No possible career progression, though not expected as it is a shop job.
