Pros

1) 10% associate discount of general merchandise (10% grocery and GM during the holidays). 2) Advancement is available if you like to work on the floor. Not nearly as much room if you work in one of the offices. 3) They do try to give you as many hours as you are willing to work.

Cons

1) Very reactive and not proactive environment. 2) They have an Open Door Policy which allows you do meet with supervisors and managers regarding any issues you are having and there are suppose to be measures in place to prevent any type of retaliation. But realistically, it doesn't always happen. You have no protection as an hourly associate to really speak against your management team and supervisors. 3) The pay isn't minimum wage, but still isn't what most people deserve. The distribution of bonuses has changed drastically- it is evident they want to spend less money on bonuses.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
