Pros

Transparency is demonstrated well here - from open conversations to an open office layout to interviewing. Process Improvement. No one is ready to settle. Everyone pitches in or takes initiative to make both day-to-day and long-term improvements happen. We are not afraid of change. Employee work/life balance. Tobias (CEO, WillowTree) and Bezos (CEO, Amazon) both preach a common message that there is no such thing as work/life balance. If you love your job and your life and have a company that supports you, they ultimately blend so well together. We definitely experience flexibility from "work from home (as needed)" to flexible hours. Growth. Think about what company has emphasized Recruiting/Branding over Sales/Biz Dev. This is rare! Caring about the people you hire will result in employees that excel in their role. Both Charlottesville and Durham are moving into much larger, and newer offices! Personal Growth. We get Lunch and Learn every Wednesday where internal or external speakers will teach the company on a topic or project they're working on. This is followed by Innovation Hour where employees can drop everything they're working on and focus on Learning and Developing THEMSELVES. Furthermore you get a stipend annually to attend a conference, get a certification, etc to increase your skillset. Getting paid to make yourself better...amazing! Project Teams & Inclusion. Employees sit in an open environment where their project teams and each project team is local to it's office (not spread out between offices). This drives communication and allows for employees to meet more than just employees in their domain of expertise. There are plenty of "groups" outside of the project teams that you can join for Diversity, Board Games, DIY, Meetup, etc... Core Values. First company I've ever worked with that actually walks the talk and puts Core Values above anything else.

Cons

***Not a con but a focus point. As we grow, keep our roots and maintain a mindset of empowering employees! Keep improving, keep growing, keep impressing clients. ***Salaries are low. BUT I know this is being improved. I know benefits are phenomenal along with a company that has an impressive culture and mindset of flexibility.

Pros

Lots of really nice, and smart people who are very collaborative and excited to share their knowledge. This is not a prestigious place to work, so I was a bit surprised by just how smart and competent people are at WillowTree or TELUS Digital, whatever our name is. The offices are great and the office culture is ridiculously good. Huge shoutout to the employees (it's def not upper management) who go out of their way to make the office culture great. Depending on what project you're on, it can be a pretty chill place to work. If you're early in your career and need experience, the variety of projects makes this a genuinely good opportunity.

Cons

The biggest con is the compensation. It's so terrible, and far below the industry standard that I don't really see how anyone could stay here long term. They don't give raises, no one is getting promotions. There's also quite a lot of restructuring going on, and very poor communication about it. Which is par for the course in the tech industry at this point, but worth noting. It feels relatively stable for now, but I really have trouble seeing how their tech services division is going to survive as AI decreases the cost to build software. Plus, tech services as part of TELUS Digital doesn't really make any sense long term. It's a contact center business with a bunch of people that randomly make expensive mobile apps? It seems to be making enough money for now to keep going, but I feel like that could change any moment.
