Pros
Interesting problems to solve, flashy startup benefits, and overall great team of ICs
Cons
Working here will break you down in a way you didn't know that a job could. The company is run by the owner's inner circle who are all but forced to take on his toxic ways of operating. If you have any sort of authority and aren't a total yes man for the inner circle, you will quickly find yourself unemployed. First and foremost, the owner would often verbally attack his employees and I can only be thankful that he stepped away from the position of CEO (although I suspect the current CEO is still his puppet). During my time there, he was not afraid to stoop to a range of low-ball tactics from offering his employees ultimatums, making obscene comments about his users, personally insulting his employees, and even strong-arming staff to work from his own home to not inconvenience himself. In fact, the owner is so hungry for control that he refuses to listen to his own technical leaders and move the platform away from its archaic tech stack (the only one that he is familiar with). On top of that, the turnover here is like nothing I've seen before. Once you combine the job insecurity with the immense pressure to work late hours and be constantly available, your mental health will almost surely suffer. And please don't fall for the positive reviews you see here - while I was there, Wodify actively incentivized its employees to bury all of these negative reviews.
