Pros
- very welcoming and fun-loving colleagues, which made working long hours more interesting - reasonably good pay for a retail job (apply directly through their HR email, don't go through an agent!) - managers are helpful - fast paced environment: you always have something to do, there's always something to learn - established company means many SOPs are already in place so you just need to follow them
Cons
- can be extremely physically and mentally demanding during busy periods like sales and weekends - fast paced environment: if you don't take initiative and if you're lazy you'll suffer - upper management always comes in to the store to randomly change the layout of the store and visual merchandising. from a business perspective yeah that's going to be slightly beneficial because it gives customers a sense of 'freshness' each time they step into the store. but to frontline staff like us it's an absolute nightmare because these changes are done without an explanation or tangible pattern, and when we run items from the fitting rooms back to the floors it takes much longer.
