Pros
Fair amount of autonomy. People are nice from the top on down with some exceptions. Customers were always wonderful to deal with. There is room to personally grow and move, should others not stand in the way.
Cons
The only things managed at this place are emergencies - outside of this, the place is expected to run itself. There are no defined jobs, attempts at defining them are met with resistance. Everyone thinks they are a manager and next up to be CEO. This causes an incredible amount of internal resistance to anything. People who care end up way overburdened and people who don't self-promote. Drove me out of IT - everyone's an expert and are willing to die on a cross to 'win', but nobody really wants to carry anything out and there's no accountability when it breaks delivery.
