I have been working at Equity Methods full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Right out of the gate, you get to solve complex problems for large companies. In general, everyone here hates to micromanage, so once you are through training you will have a lot of autonomy to complete your work as you see fit. Not only does this make the work environment more enjoyable, you'll also get very good at managing your time.

The culture is very collaborative, with tons of people willing to help you solve a problem you are running into. The ping pong/pool tables don't hurt either.

This could be a pro or a con depending on your personality, but this is a pay for performance company. If you go above and beyond, and make the lives of everyone else easier by being here, you will be recognized for that. Everyone has a different career trajectory, but there is nothing holding you back. If you see this as a con, this company might not be for you.

    Cons

There is no getting around the fact that during quarter ends, everyone here has a lot to do. This can mean some long hours, especially during your first year. Once you gain experience, you figure out how to be more efficient and the Q-end hours drop considerably. 70 hour weeks do happen, but are definitely not the norm here.

    Pros

Challenging job that causes to think hard. Work with smart people

    Cons

Culture is terrible. Most employees are H1B Visa workers and are 'slaves' because they can't leave after working 100+ hours. We want to leave but don't want to have to go back to our countries. If you are applying and need a visa, don't. The hours are terrible and upper management makes bad decisisons. The attrition has been terrible with people being fired left and right. Watch out.

    Advice to Management

Fix the hours and quit firing people. We need help. We need work/life balance, not 100+ hours and working every weekend

I have been working at Equity Methods full-time

    Pros

You work with very smart people who understand very well the work they do. Critical thinking used everyday.

    Cons

Very long hours. On average, around 70-80 during the 'light' weeks, and more during busy hours. Management is poor and doesn't handle work loads. On your own.

    Advice to Management

Understand how to manage people and don't lie about hours.

    Pros

The learning is incredible, great training to start and there are plenty of smart co-workers to get help when needed. Work time is flexible, a lot of challenges, perks, and fun people to work with.

    Cons

Peak reporting periods are demanding, but I think the highs and lows even themselves out.

    Advice to Management

Keep the great environment and continue to grow. That's what makes it exciting.

    Pros

A really great place to work. Lots of training and learning opportunities when you start. Early exposure to client work.

You will get to work with smart, motivated, and fun individuals. Fast-paced work environment, so you will be pushed to work hard and deliver high-quality results.

Entrepreneurial culture, and management is very open to new ideas.

The company cares about employee development, so you really have a lot of say as to what kind of projects you want to be involved in and what kind of work you want to focus on.

    Cons

The workload can get quite heavy during quarter-ends, but I believe that it's still not as busy as typical accounting or consulting firms
