I worked at FAMS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This place made me appreciate a healthy working environment

    Cons

Senior management, vice president and up could careless about employees. They will lead by intimidation when number are down. They hired incompetent leadership twice in the Sharonville office. Then when number struggled they blamed middle management and hourly employees but their only advice was cleft more money. You would think if leadership is hiring bad middle management and hourly employees that would reflect on the vice president and president who put the directors in place. No somehow it was middle management's fault. They preach accountability but have none themselves. Honestly, pay was good, but this place is the epitome of evil and I have never witnessed a more hostile working enviroent. The director in St. Charles seems to care and that office didn't have the issues that Sharonville did. Still I would be concerned about senior management. Rather than take accountability for their bad hiring decisions and lack of leadership, they chose to shut down the Ohio office with no notice and leave everyone unemployed without any severance for hourly and salary alike.

    Advice to Management

Replace everyone and let the St. Charles director run the show.

I worked at FAMS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

FAMS had great upper management, very good at investing time into employee development. I worked on multiple portfolios at one time. Great employee appreciation events such as BBQ's, Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas parties. I enjoyed the bonus structure which allow me to make more money at the end of the month.

    Cons

I knew more about the collections processes then my immediate supervisors which was bothersome and hindering at times. It didn't go unnoticed as I was offered a supervisor's position in the end. Management should not have to go to a physiatrist to determine if they can do the job effectively. I did the job but without the title and the money, but yet they hired a person without the experience and she too was let go the day after she fired me.

    Advice to Management

Believe in your people and don't rely on your quality assurance team that has no collection experience to give you the right advice.
