In 2019, Fancy had gone through a change in management and a new CEO was put in place. Reviews from pre-2019 are likely not relevant to Fancy today. There was a shift in strategy and realignment of priorities. Fancy today behaves like a startup. We roll up our sleeves, get things done and have fun doing it. The culture is open and transparent. Weekly company round table meetings allow everyone to have their voices heard and a forum to discuss priorities.

Fancy has a tight knit, laid back atmosphere in which you're trusted to get your work done without constant supervision. For the most part everyone is friendly and helpful. Marc, Griffin, Hannah and Billy in particular are joys to work with as they keep things humorous and light. Along with the day to day in office, Fancy often takes part in pop up shops and activations with celebrities and influencers, creating opportunities to gain quality experience in a number of fields.

Cons

Like many start ups, dealing with swift changes is a part of the job. There is often an air of uncertainty that looms over but new leadership is taking the right steps to keep things going the right way. Its an all hands on deck kind of place as well so you may have to answer emails after hours or take on a task outside of your role here and there.

Worst employment experience ever. Hands down. CEO, Joe Einhorn, is one of the most alienating and most uncomfortable people to interact with (if you are one of the 2 people he talks to at the company). He enjoys giving the impression of the wizard behind the curtain, which is just to keep distance between himself and his employees and to keep the "cool" appearance of having celebrity friends visit him. Has never once given a straightforward answer on what the actual direction is for Fancy, other than draining his and his friends' bank accounts. He does not attend company meetings, nor contribute, basically a floating head. No focus on direction of company, have been unable to define & monetize this for years. No defined target market - remains a very expensive amazon alternative? Pivots on a dime to seem trendy, but is just scattershot "ideas" from head leadership Employees have no impact on business direction, and are not listened to. Simply there to drive the carts forward on bad marketing packages that never meet clients' expectations of reach and leave customers hanging with no care for their value. Immature leadership cannot handle honest feedback without feeling personally attacked. Perceived brand value is through the roof, but in reality no one is buying it. Culture and values are non-existing. Morality never plays a part in execution of ideas. Honestly surprised Fancy is still around after this long. Seems like someone isn't willing to own up that it's a failure and shut it down.

Your job is to sell a fake dream to small companies. You have to be persistent and attentive as possible in the lead process, then once the client has entered their credit card info you can pretty much move on to suckering more businesses in to buying the fake marketing package we are forced to offer. The company makes fake celebrity pages to fool customers in to thinking celebrities and rich people shop on the website. Many of the Fancy users are actually fictitious, just ask how many of your friends have ever even heard of Fancy and you'll see this business is simply a scam that sells dreams and should be shut down as many other reviewers have mentioned.

Pros

I was able to learn a great deal from management and co workers. Tough love, where the reward is more work. This place will make you hustle!
