Pros
Some great talent, some great middle managers that shelter & back their team to the best of their ability.
Cons
Middle management has limited influence and is often caught between senior leadership and constantly shifting priorities. Teams are expected to absorb unrealistic demands, and when concerns are raised or individuals fall out of favour, restructures can occur with little warning and limited transparency. There is a clear “us and them” culture, with decision-making concentrated within a small inner circle. HR processes are inconsistently applied, which is widely recognised both inside and outside the organisation. While mental health initiatives exist, they often feel like a compliance exercise rather than being reflected in everyday leadership behaviour.
