    Pros

You get bonuses based on how much money you collect and some are in the form of a gift card while others are on your check. Other than that, I can't think of any.

    Cons

you work a mid-day shift and they say you can change it after your probation period but they never allow it
    management chooses favorites
    dont care about your health

    Neutral Outlook

    Pros

Flexible Scheduling, and you can make up time if you need to be off.

    Cons

The pay is low. Bonuses are hard to achieve, because you have to collect a certain amount and get Calls Per Hour. This seems easy, but its harder than it sounds when the customers don't want to pay because of the poor services that they received.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Set realistic goals especially with the collections. You cant get apples from a turnip

    Pros

Room to advance if you do your job well. Good people to work with. Company allows for fun on the job.

    Cons

Upper management not always in tune with daily workloads. Raises not coming very often. Nights and weekend work every week.

I worked at First Collection Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

First Collection provides a "family-like" atmosphere; and management are true professionals who go out of their way to make new employees feel comfortable. Both debt collectors and customer service divisions are on automatic dialers making VOIP calls--therefore employees must wear phone headset while starring into computer screen at all times--which is great when it makes time fly by. Management is understanding when it comes to missed time, & almost always willing to grant "make-up" hours. Another great incentive justifies the need for perfect attendance--which pays $100/pay period upfront--but also stacks another $100/mo. in a virtual bonus savings account that the company pays out a week or so before x-mas!
I gained a tremendous amount of experience during the past year while working there, and really hated leaving some of the best co-workers I've ever had to opportunity to work with in my life. Wage is decent and bonuses actually attainable. Overall great place to gain essential financial experience.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the concept of a "career ladder" is non-existent for this company. Sure, there are managers for both the call center and administrative sectors, but growth into one of these positions is extremely slow. Most of those in management positions have been with the company for upwards 8 to 20+ years, and I don't see any of them getting ready to retire anytime soon.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you do--making new employees feel at home & encouraging all to be members of the same team.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at First Collection Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company has a great, family feel. Once you're a part of the team, you can expect to actually become "part of the team." You can tell that they really care about each individual and his/her growth professionally, as well as personally. Also, benefits kicked in a little late (60 month partial, 1 year full), but for anyone planning on sticking around for the long haul, the benefits package is competitive.

    Cons

For the load taken on with various high-dollar companies, the pay was not competitive: no supervisor-level bonuses.
