Pros
Well equipped shop safe working environment specialty tools were provided.
Cons
The only problem I had was the maintenance managers were not properly trained.
Pros
Making good relationships is very helpful. Many long term employees.
Cons
Old school. Not a very progressive company.
Pros
To be the first smile many children see in the morning and possibly the last smile in the afternoon gave me the sense that I was making a difference! I was also providing safe transportation!
Cons
Some children’s behavior was challenging because they would not sit safely and as their bus driver it was my responsibility to teach them how to respect the expectations! Some kid’s come from homes that are less than optimal and they come into the bus acting out-this is always challenging

Pros
The dispatcher and lead mechanic are keeping the place afloat.
Cons
The management is a liability. First Student of Bozeman is in constant need of drivers, for a reason! Drivers are mistreated and talked down to regularly. The so-called signing bonus is selective. Professional CDL drivers are put in compromising positions due to mismanagement and unreasonable demands by Bozeman School District. Winter parking is an issue. Blizzard conditions & slipping on ice while trying to get to your vehicle. It is becoming more and more difficult to justify working for a company that literally ranks and publicly posts driver performance in the front office based on inconsistent computerized surveillance that tracks how quickly one accelerates or needs to hit the brakes to avoid accidents. #publicShamingRevealsNoLeadership It is inevitable, that drivers will be called out on the carpet for random occurrences with a mini school bus keychain hanging on your route hook. The anxiety is just not worth the headache. If you do decide to work here, do yourself a favor and purchase five days worth of arctic tundra attire (consider ice cleats) because First Student’s ‘no idling’ policy requires fellow drivers to “rat out” busses that have steam puffing from the exhaust pipe. So that means you’ll be sitting at your pick-up school with no heat for 15-20 minutes in sub zero temps (-5 with -19 degree windchill), engine off, and waiting for your students to board a frozen bus. Then you get to be the one to explain to K-12 kids to "just wait another 10 minutes for the rest of kiddos to board before you can blast the heat". But hey... the wet freeze is a "shared misery"! Students are not "First", safety is not "First", and the drivers are perpetually silenced.
