Public Transit management division paid more and didn't micromanage. I was with Public transportation for most of my career - paratransit and fixed route.
Cons
The Student Transportation division did not pay well and micromanaged to a level I had never seen. I was only with Student for 8 months.

Unionized, pay good, high expectations for cleanliness

Treat staff with smiles and praise as soon as you are no longer continuously available to provide extra time to them they stop allowing extra time all together to you and mannerisms change. Basically if you can't do everything they want outside your scheduled hours your talked about behind your back by office staff and management
