Pros

Leadership is highly visible… mostly through random calls from a CEO in another country who has little understanding of your daily work. It’s a masterclass in remote micromanagement

Cons

Company is going down the gutter I never thought I’d say this, but things have taken a serious turn for the worse. The recent push to force everyone back into the office shows just how disconnected leadership has become from the reality of today’s workforce. There’s zero flexibility, no listening, and no understanding of what actually motivates employees anymore. The new CEO feels completely out of touch with what’s happening on the ground. Living in another country and dialing into endless calls to micromanage teams without any real context or understanding is frustrating and exhausting. It’s hard to take direction from someone who clearly has no clue about day-to-day challenges or the culture that used to make this place great. Morale is dropping fast, people are looking to leave , and leadership seems more focused on control than trust. Unless something changes soon, this company is heading in the wrong direction.

Pros

- Full work from home or abroad, no one cares as long as you deliver - A very good product which leads the world of optimization by a large margin way better than products by larger companies like google and Nokia/Erickson - A lot of POCs with interesting albeit not too difficult adjustments. I fixed most if not all of the legacy and quality issues from the previous generations and currently the product is very stable - Great room for creativity, you just invent and do stuff and people cheer from the side when it works, including the managers. Patents are easy to make. - Everyone is chill, our clients are generally happy and we get bonuses for new contracts.

Cons

-The salary is good, with the bonuses the TC is compatible with other start ups but it is not insane. Our total salary depends on how good we are selling so in bad years the TC might get nerfed. - In the past we had the regular "Boomer" legacy issues which are so common in the Israeli High tech industry. The company was very successful in the beginning 20 years ago so they grew complacent and as a result we didn't have sufficient regression tests or CI for old features and when the system needed migration, a lot of quality issues surfaced with those new products. This is being solved adequately right now with better automation but it will take time. - Our AI usage can be a little bit limited as there are competitive limitation with the companies that offer those tools but we are doing what we can. - The company is relatively small so you have to be really good and have a lot of general understanding in your field and in adjacent fields. You need to support millions of users, you can't have a limited mindset mentality like in many corporates. Without you there will be no one else to support those users and the internet quality of a small country can be screwed. We have similar responsibilities to the big corps but without the large amounts of manpower to support each other.
