Pros

Fun job, mostly great kids If you enjoyed the math, reading, and English topics on the ACT/SAT and genuinely love teaching your academic knowledge it is a lot of fun Current managers are great to work with Health insurance is a decent amount paid for, you pick your plan and coverage

Cons

Lots of side projects going on Many other responsibilities than it first seems Decent pay, but not enough to survive in NJ PTO and sick days are pretty standard for the US, but seeing that you will frequently be around kids who are kinda sick during sessions, it could be a little more generous You do have to reach out on sick days as well to reschedule any one-on-one sessions (sales directors who usually take care of scheduling and client aspects are busy enough with their jobs, there could probably be one more)

Hard work for too little pay

Pros

Great coworkers, one manager, stable paycheck

Cons

Summertime tutoring work is 8 hours straight of teaching, no meal break guaranteed. Impossible to plan for sessions. Killer schedules. During school year, the schedule sucks because (despite adequate planning time) you are working during all of your friends/family's off hours so you never see them. No benefits to speak of.
