I have been working at For Eyes full-time

    Pros

The co-workers that I worked with incredible people.

    Cons

Will bait and switch you with promises that are not kept. Management will bully you until they get what they want. Repeatedly tells people things that are not true especially regarding breaks and lunches. It amazes me that this company has not been sued yet. No raises the entire time I have worked here. There are people who have not gotten raises in ten years. Repeatedly told that there is no room in the budget to give raises. However, they are remodeling stores and constantly sending out new signage and making new commercials. Will be asked to do more and more yet never be compensated for it. The window washers were fired and then that becomes your job. People in the lab were let go so things they did now become your job too. Marketing, fired so now you can call people and harass them until they answer the phone and you can ask them to come in and see the doctor and buy stuff. No opportunity for growth in this company.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and start making them feel as though you value them and not expendable.

I worked at For Eyes full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It’s a job, coworkers are good, some customers are very nice and patient, if you like to oversell this will be perfect for you.

    Cons

Management has no idea how optical works, in les than 3 years everything has been transformed at least 5 times.

customers are fleeing, now doctors are leaving too, because they’re been belittled and attacked, in this this new crusade to save pennies.

Cutting opticians hours and reducing the few benefits they offered, all while promising so many good things are coming.

Constant pressure to up sell, price increases on products, and unattainable sales goals.

Cutting the few hours workers get.

    Advice to Management

Please understand that glasses are not fast food; care about the people making the money, instead of cutting the few existing benefits, how about offering real ones.

I worked at For Eyes (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, flexible schedules, low stress. Friendly coworkers and well trained staff.........................................::::don’t have much more that as far as pros

    Cons

New management is out of touch with what is happening with the actual office and what it takes to grow a practice. Getting rid of some of the best doctors in the business just to improve their bottom line. This will catch up with them. I do not see this company growing or doing better in the future. Also, extremely outdated systems, almost ancient.

    Advice to Management

Good Luck! Hopefully you are able to rectify the mistakes you have made thus far. Great loss of talent and that talent is the backbone of your company.

    Pros

    Flexible Schedule
Rewarded based on performance (True Meritocracy)
    Competitive Bonus Structure
    Fast paced
    Committed Executive Leadership

    Cons

    Quick Turnover
Communication is a challenge with the speed of change
True transparency is limited to Executive level leadership
    Lack of training for employees

    Advice to Management

Focus on the things that matter most for a minute: The front line employees. They are the 1st ones our customers come into contact with and they need to be kept in the loop.

I have been working at For Eyes full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've been at For Eyes for a little over 2 years now. They've gotten rid of the "good old boys" club and the turnover has stopped. The new leadership team all seem to have experience running large companies and you can tell by the way the operate. The first thing they did was move out of their assigned offices and sit with all of us in the open seating area. The previous team was very distant and you couldn't go up to them and speak with them. You can now laugh and smile in the office, with the previous leadership team it wasn't allowed, you had to be quiet. All the new leaders are approachable and you have access to them.

Everything is about "metrics" and measuring things. Previously we did things based on what people felt, which created a lot of work when it didn't work. For the first time in the companies history all employees are now going to be getting bonuses (finally!). They are spending money on stores, the lab and headquarters. Very happy to see that they are promoting people who were already working here, not just brining in new people, good sign!

    Cons

    - Changes and lots of them.
    - The new leadership team likes to move fast and some people are not used to that speed, it's hard for me to keep up with.
    - Company is owned by GrandVision, based in Europe and they want things done a certain way.
    - It was awful that a lot of people were let go when the new leadership came in (but to be fair they've been replaced with newer people, some of I think are better than the previous people).
    - The long term employees are shrinking everyday.

    Advice to Management

    - Keep having the town-hall meetings.
    - Give us free contacts.
    - Match our 401Ks dollar for dollar.
