I have been working at Functional Pathways full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The therapists care about the patients

    Cons

-Anyone that does not provide direct patient care does not care about the patient -FP finds its employees to be easily replaceable

    Advice to Management

A large group of employees were laid off and given 12 hour notice. Functional pathways ended he contract with a facility (multiple locations) and FP did not notify their employees that the contract would be ending, leaving the employees at all locations without a job and health insurance. Functional pathways handled the situation very poorly. The company did not communicate with employees about PTO payout, insurance,...

    Functional Pathways Response

    June 26, 2019Vp of Recruiting

Thank you for your review, As you can imagine, the decision to leave a facility is never taken lightly nor without a great amount of thought with regard to all parties involved. FP is fully aware of the effect discontinuing a relationship with a customer can have on employees ...

I worked at Functional Pathways full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They state 15 PTO days per year. Not actually true.

    Cons

You only accrue vacation time when ACTUALLY working. Even if your status is full time. If you take a week's vacation, you do not accrue while on vacation. Other corporations apply a flat accrual rate for PTO time for all full time employees even if on vacation. If you happen to only work 37 hours one week, they only apply a pro-rated PTO accrual for the 37 hours worked.... not 40.

    Advice to Management

    Improve PTO accrual process.

I worked at Functional Pathways part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Provided good opportunities for clinical education. Such as the annual symposium which one can get at least 15 CEU’s free of charge. Only have to pay for hotel stay. They have great clinical pathways programs in areas like urinary incontinence, dementia, etc. I learned a lot as a result.

    Cons

The pay! For the time I was there despite being a therapist with 10 years experience I was paid quite a low wage ,with a pay freeze Implemented across the company. Not a cent raise in the time I was there. Absolutely no morale during the holidays. They gave each employee a $10 meal voucher. Literally enough for a value meal at a fast food restaurant. The productivity standards were excessively high and unrealistic....

    "Occupational Therapy Assistant"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    I worked at Functional Pathways

    Pros

They are ethical so there’s that.

    Cons

They don’t provide appropriate support and training to the leadership/management team and employees are dispensable. There is no loyalty and they don’t give their loyal employees the benefit of the doubt. They sometimes allow the pressure of their clients to negatively impact their clinical judgements and it becomes about pleasing a client rather than what’s appropriate for the patient. Not enough site visits by Regional...

    Advice to Management

Value loyalty more in employees. Don’t believe everything you hear when people call your “compliance” hotline.

    Cons

    - Company is not interested in supporting hourly workers - High turnover rate with clinical managers - Constant threats of being terminated - Therapists are not trusted on clinical judgement and forced to make decisions to appease the clinical manager and regional manager
