    Pros

    Reasonable expectations
    Training at your pace
    Specialists are all very friendly and there to assist and help when they can
    Management is very accommodating

    Cons

    Understaffed per volume of work, mostly a lack of Tier 2 or above.

    Advice to Management

    Management was very helpful. You could tell that in many aspects their hands were tied, especially during company takeover. They handled the change with a great deal of grace and empathy.

    I have been working at GFI Software (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    I need to fill in 5 characters? None

    Cons

    Used to be one of the best software companies in Malta - ever since Joe Lehmandt and Aurea took over there has been nothing but bad news. Company is driven by quantity metrics rather then quality metrics. They introduced a tool that every employee has to install on his/her machine which takes a screenshots at 10 min intervals, logs all activity, urls visited and the Top Management still insists this is not a snooping tool. Avoid this company at all costs.

    Advice to Management

    Stop giving yourselves positions and start respecting the employees - you owe that much to them. And please start coming to work every once in a while if you want to lead by example. Focus on employees not numbers.

    It was a great and ambitious company with impressive on-premise software products. A great team and good management. Good benefits and good pay.

    Cons

    Changes in the company strategy, and company culture lead many employees to quit or to leave. Average training provided.

    The energy at GFI was great, and they had a strong Management Team.

    Cons

    Offices across the globe required sn adaptable schedule, but it was sn amazing experience.

    Pros

    The industry is great and the environment is pleasant. GFI has software used on thousand of SMB servers around the world be it in US, EMEA or APAC.

    Working in security software or archiving software or faxing software is always interesting as well as other software categories GFI embarks upon.

    Cons

    Lots of changes in the business could create some confusion at first till people get used to the changes.

    Pros

    Relaxed environment, good benefits, good work perks. Some employees work remotely, some in office. Catered food, unlimited snacks.

    Cons

    Upper Tech Support Management in the US is terrible. No technical knowledge, and degrades employees. Makes working in support a hostile environment. Pay stinks compared to others in area. Around 15k less than average.

    Advice to Management

    If a supervisor expresses concern about other people in management, listen. Don't brush it off.

    Pros

    None, unless your already a friend their group.

    Cons

    No creative control or technical control over you work. They just want someone to be heads down coding and do exactly what they tell you without question or comment.

    Advice to Management

    If you want to bring in new people from outside your original group you need to accept them into the "club" and assume they have good things to contribute.
